Jarret is a brand that is uniquely Korean, as Jarret designer  Ji Youn Lee actually uses pieces of Korean costumes and turns them into tailored, trendy clothes for both men and women.

The menswear looks were cool, calm and collected, featuring solids and patterns with gauze overlays (remains of a Korean costume, perhaps?). Jacket, t-shirts, shorts and even suits with quirky detailing appeared in the line, making sure a gentleman could be dressed for any occasion: work, evening wear and weekend.

Of course, fitting in with the Seoul FW aesthetic: the long trench made an appearance.

Despite its interesting name, Nasty Habit isn’t nasty at all. In fact, their designs were pretty fabulous. Casual looks involving stripes and pinstripes, shorts and trousers and colorblock ruled the runway here. Pocket patterns screen printed with eyes and other patterns appeared as a trend. Patches also seemed prevalent within the collection.

An interesting trend was the double belted pant. The top of the trouser had another section with a different fabric above it, making for two pant closures. I’m not sure how practical this is, but it was something that made this particular collection quite unique. The appearance of the trench coat also put this collection right on trend with several of the other Seoul Fashion Week styles.

D.Gnak has always been a BDMOTP favorite. In fact, we’ve had the pleasure of seeing the D.Gnak collections not only at Seoul Fashion Weeks but also at Milan Fashion Week. We always love how they add a little bit of funky street edge to their designs.

Their newest collection featured quite a bit of layering and draping. Suits with a trendy twist of short pants covered with stylish trenches walked the runway alongside hoodies and shorts. Black, blue and white dominated the collection (these colors are usually dominant in the D.Gnak garments).

The designs are appropriate for a creative yet classic man, sometime who wants to make a statement in something a little different, but still relevant to a classic working environment. A D.Gnak suit you’ll be stylish, trendy and modern.

How and What is an eclectic collection of garments for both men and women. Whereas there were just a few looks for men, they were definitely eye-catching. Let’s first start with what has to be a fan favorite: the bright green trench coat. This would be a great way to cover up a more basic looks for a pop of color and style.

The black and grey onesies for men were also different and fun. I am not sure how many men would wear them, but they are certainly something new we’ve been seeing…let’s see if the trend continues. The embellished floral patterns spotted on both shirts and a jacket add a little twist to the looks too.

How and What is a rather quirky selection of menswear clothes, but any man would love one of their garments to accent a basic outfit.

The BEOM collection is for a young, trendy man hoping to push the edge but still stay relevant. The collection is fun and quirky and features looks with a special pattern of goldfish, dots, cutouts and baggy pants. Distinctly Asian with its Koi fish tribute, the standout of the collection is clearly in the jackets.

Featuring everything from colorblocking to cutouts to leather to tweed in jacket form, BEOM has really gotten it right in the jacket sector. You can pair the jackets with some of the baggy pants or leather shorts BEOM offers or with a simple pair of denim jeans or trousers for a more classic look.

BNB12 is a unisex Korean brand focusing on offering funky, trendy clothing options to young adults. BNB12 is for the young man who wants to look street savvy. In fact, the typical Asian street style look is reminiscent of BNB12: baggy pants, screen-printed shirts and trendy jackets.

The casual street look is quite popular in Asia especially with the younger set, and it’s clear that young adults are really into the BNB12 look and rightly so. The brand is all unisex, so you can see both women and men alike sporting their garments.

Whereas these looks aren’t office-appropriate, they are perfect for a hip weekend outfit or a college students urban wardrobe.

I can now say with 100% conviction after seeing the ME: YOOMI collection that the long trench is officially back. The ME: YOOMI brand considers themselves to create business urban casual fashions for men around the world, and this collection is quite appealing and appropriate for many the occasion. But let’s get back to the trenches.

Coming in a variety of colors, patterns and styles, ME: YOOMI makes paisley-esque patterned trenches, army-green trenches, color-blocked trenches and even a blue-ish houndstooth style patterned trench. Paired with a variety of trousers and layered over suits or more casual looks, we can’t help but want to wear a ME: YOOMI trench.

A standout Italian-inspired collection Vanhart walked the runway at Seoul Fashion Week. Typically a fashion week known for trendy, avant-gard designs, the Vanhart collection wowed the crowds with a more classic, dapper set of designs.

Long trenches over suits and motorcycle jackets layered over scarves and knitwear were common fare in the Vanhart show. A variety of colors and silhouettes were shown, but all typical Italian tailoring with tapered looks and well-fitting garments. No oversize was seen here, except for the longer trenches. Linen was repeatedly used and the looks were accessoried with sunglasses and casual loafers, sandals or wingtips.

Have we seen Vanhart before? No, but it certainly feels like it…in Milan or Florence. However elegant, the looks will still well-received by the trendier Seoul crowd.

This avant-garde brand is all about darkness. The designer feels that the collection is perfect for those wanting “armour” or the chance to hide behind their clothes.

The designs are blunt but intricate. Clothed only in black, tattooed, uber cool models walked the runways to a live DJ. Black knitwear, cotton and leather in all sorts of silhouettes categorized the line. Some interesting looks were the trendy coats and jackets, the leather pants and of course— the showstopper look of the shorts/pants combo. What is that, one might ask? It’s literally shorts and pants, one leg long pants, the other leg shorts. A nice way to show off any leg tattoos you might have while still keeping covered on a chilly day.

Whereas BDMOTP isn’t particularly into the “goth” look, Vlades does show promise—it’s not just another dark brand filled with angst. The sharp designs and modern silhouettes keep it relevant for anyone, and not just the death metal set. Any man would look sharp sporting a Vlades coat or jacket!

Martell and Donya Patrice Campbell are London’s hottest sibling duo when it comes to style, so it was only a matter of time before the two designed their own collection–and D’Lyle Treasure is born.

I recall the first time I spotted the two on the streets of London: Donya, effortlessly pulling off her signature masculine style, somehow still looking feminine and lovely, and Martell, whose utmost confidence can be felt from miles away. The two clearly have impeccable personal style and their fashions fit perfectly together, each complementing the other with signature accessories such as hats, sunglasses and socks. Certainly makes an only child crave a sibling, doesn’t it?

Perhaps you’ve seen them around town, wearing looks like this:

Or this:

Or perhaps this:

Now that you’re convinced that these two are the coolest siblings in town, it’s time to check out their new collection. I’d rather hoped that it would reflect their own personal style, and I was proved right. The D’Lyle Treasure line which BDMTOP viewed at MBFW Tokyo is full of accessories not unlike the ones Donya and Martell have been sporting for years: funky socks, quirky pocket squares and refined hats, all with a distinctly dapper British feel to them.

The silk pocket squares are the perfect combination of vibrant and subdued, giving a gentleman an edge to that suit. The patterned socks also have a similar effect: they seem elegant but playful, and a small peek at them between the your shoe and pant cuff could take that outfit over the top.

My personal favorite are the beaded bracelets, decidedly masculine…but let’s be real, I want one for myself! I’m sure I will see both Donya and Martell sporting accessories from their own collection–oh wait, they already are. You can see from the photo above they are both wearing the bracelets from their collection, proving that D’Lyle Treasure accessories work just as well for men as they can for women.
