If you’re looking for wearable this season at London Fashion Week Men’s, Phoebe English Man is all about soft and comfortable fabrics and textures for the casual man. It already sits well with the ethics BDMOTP shares, meaning it was made in the UK and created from natural fibers, but it also fits a stylish man’s weekend wardrobe. While it’s not quite work wear, the black, grey and blue AW17 collection seems to fit a rainy Saturday afternoon, which conveniently, is a common occurrence in London’s fall weather.

The looks are characterized by added volume and detail, especially around the neck and chest area. Light coats with a ruched closure or textured neckline, layer upon layer, will be the signature look for the AW17 Phoebe English Man.

With holiday parties happening all December long, you may be wondering what’s appropriate to wear. Here is a guide to help you choose what is best for each style of event you have. Red and green are definitely not required for a great holiday look!

Family Time

Family gatherings are usually pretty casual, so for a get together with relatives, try a cosy, winter-warm sweater. It will give you flexibility to sit on the floor and open presents with the kids but still look nice at the dinner table. Extra points for anything turtleneck or plaid, which are both trending this season.

Out On The Town With Friends

Chances are you’ll be heading out for champagne on New Year’s Eve or for pre-holiday drinks and dinner. You may be bar hopping or heading from spot to spot, so really, you can wear something casual, but make sure to cover it with a warm coat. A longer, heavy coat is perfect if it’s snowing, or try a fur collar for a windier evening to keep that neck warm.

An Important Date

You want to look extra dapper for your girl this holiday season. Something smart, like a suit or sharp blazer is ideal. Make sure to focus on the fit, as it should be form-fitting by not too tight, or that could be unflattering. For a daytime date, a leather jacket and hat combo is perfect.

Depending what kind of date it is, a casual yet streamlined look could work.

That Work Holiday Party

Holiday parties at the office usually run after work, so wear something professional that you can dress down a bit to relax. For example, a blazer with a cool shirt underneath so you can peel layers off as the night goes on.

Take off these blazers for a more casual look.

D.Gnak is typically a BDMOTP favorite. Designed by Kang Dong Jun, the collections typically have a very Korean feel, but thanks to the designer’s training in NYC, also a very international, modern element as well. It’s no wonder D.Gnak often shows their collections not only at Seoul Fashion Week, but at Milan Fashion Week as well.

The SS17 collection sticks with a lot of the silhouettes that D.Gnak is know for: voluminous, draped layers and a focus on cool coats and jackets. Every man will be able to find the right spring outerwear in this collection, as there are bomber jackets, leather, blazers, long trenches and more, all, of course, in the signature color of black, as well as looks in white, orange and evergreen.

You have to have a little sass in you to wear D.Gnak, as their items are very fashion forward and not for the faint of heart. For SS17, give some newness a try. You could go karate style with their white, martial-arts inspired shirt jacket or pair a more traditional top with a pair of oversize D.Gnak pants, which, this season, tend to hit slightly above the ankle. Or, for a bold statement, the evergreen leather jacket is definitely a “wow” piece within the collection.

Beyond Closet, everyone’s favorite Seoul streetwear brand, showed a dynamic collection for SS17. Summer finally arrived on the runway with models sporting shorts, ripped jeans and unbuttoned shirts under sleek blazers. BDMOTP loves how Beyond Closet is able to look urban yet poised at the same time. Perhaps it’s the layers…hoodies under blazers and ascots paired with shirtless abs. Either way, the collection is youthful yet elegant, full of interesting juxtaposition.

The brand made sure to participate in some of spring’s biggest trends, like the long trench, the leather bomber jacket, baggy trousers and of course, a stripe here and there. Fun patterns, ripped denim and quirky t-shirt decals added playfulness to the line. Casual sandals and sneakers, plus a baseball cap here and there finished the looks off. All and all, a different kind of dapper — an entirely more underground one.

Baggy was the name of the game for the Sulvam SS17 collection, designed by Teppei Fujita. A relatively new brand that was first launched in 2013, wide silhouettes were the only kind walking this runway. However, fashion was not sacrificed in this collection. Although the trousers, tops and jackets were all oversize, there was still an abundance of style: ties and crops, V-necks and wraps, cowl necks and cuffs.

The collection was predominately black, red and white and relaxed kicks worn on the models feet gave the garments a playful touch. Somehow, the looks still seems to give off a tailored vibe, despite the grandeur (size-wise, we mean). Perhaps it was the fact that shirts covering the neck/chest area always seemed to hug just the right spots, and the wider parts were saved for the appendages. Either way, a man hoping to make a serious statement would love a piece from the Sulvam SS17 collection.

Name, designed by Noriyuki Shimizu, showed an eclectic mix of casual spring wear for the SS17 collection. The brand offers layer after layer of chic, modern menswear (also sported by female models, so technically, the clothes can be worn by either sex), with plenty of bright colors and windbreaker-style jackets and trenches. Just in time for Halloween, there were several pops of orange, but don’t worry–the collection will still be relevant in spring, with it’s practical yet trendy trench coats and vests with pockets.

Baggy pants, jackets and shorts dominated the runway and the occasional accessory, a “murse” (man purse), a baseball cap, or a sleek pair of shades added a little fun to the collection, which seems comfortable yet stylish at the same time.

PlasticTokyo, created by designer Keisuke Imazaki, describes itself as a street brand, and that it is. The clothes are casual, urban and just the likes of outfits we’ve spotted on the streets of Tokyo. For SS17, PlasticTokyo pulls out volume, the color grey and vests. Key looks included garments like baggy bomber jackets with silk sleeves and tweed fronts paired with casual black trousers, color-blocked, two-tone suits and blazers layered over utilitarian workman onesies.

The crazy, blunt cut hairstyles were oh so Tokyo: funky, cool and cutting edge (literally). These looks aren’t for those going to a traditional office setting, but if you want to roam the mean streets of Tokyo looking super chill, try a PlasticTokyo grey sweatsuit and you won’t be disappointed.

The Dressed Undressed SS17 collection, designed by Takeshi Kitazawa/Emiko Sato was all about layers and hovered between sleek looks and extensive volume. Skinny suits covered with voluminous trenches and raincoats formed an integral part of the collection — BDMOTP especially adored the long, khaki colored coat/cape lined with sheepskin. An interesting take on the poncho, this coat has “loose” arms giving it a cape-esque appeal. However, the long length stays within the Aw16/17 trend of long coats, we which love and are thrilled to see are still waking the runways for spring. The collection also featured a very unique style of layering: double button-ups. Literally one button-up dress shirt was placed over another, perhaps a way to stay warm on a cool spring day.

Another interesting trend walking this catwalk was the one-sleeve look: a plaid button-up or long trench with just one sleeve. A promising solution to that funky spring weather when you just aren’t sure to select long sleeves or no sleeves! Probably not one BDMOTP will venture into trying anytime soon, but Dressed Undressed does get an A for effort and creativity.

It seems that Tokyo’s bi-annual fashion week has a new sponsor instead of the traditional Mercedes-Benz. This year, Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo is showcasing Japan’s most talented designers. While there isn’t nearly as much menswear as womenswear, SS17 did have a few key designers when it comes to the gentlemen.

Jun Hashimoto considers his brand to be classical Japanese fashion. But what exactly is that? The SS17 collection has its roots in the beautiful Italian tailoring but then offers a more traditional Japanese aesthetic, which consists of a comfortable, practical garments, designed with both appearance and functionality in mind.

The Jun Hashimoto SS17 presentation didn’t consist of live models or a catwalk, instead, a photo presentation of all the coming looks as designs. Indeed, the looks were sharp and practical, for a man looking to be clean cut and ready to go at any moment. We appreciated the slight artistic touch of the photo presentation as well, using silhouettes and editing to create some unique angles.

The weather is beginning to change and the wind is blowing a slight chill into the air. It’s time for fall, so what to wear? Here are some of the top trends for this fall and winter season, and they’re actually wearable trends that any man should be able to easily participate in.

1. The Bomber Jacket

This jacket, which is lightweight and perfect for fall temps, has been popular for many years, in fact, since the 1940’s. This season, it’s back with a serious vengeance and every man should be able to dig one out of his closet or pickup a new one.

These jackets have been spotted all over the AW16/17 runways as well as in the streets. Combine it with some chic trousers or layer it (see number 2) over a longer shirt or coat for a cool silhouette.

2. Layers, layers, layers

This may be one of the easiest fall trends to partake in, simply because there a very few rules and anything goes. Just take some garments and pile them on to stay warm. See, fashion is easy!

Obviously you want to pick thing that aren’t too bulky so you aren’t ballooned out, but this trend is both practical and fashionable, as you can peel off layers if you become warm.

3. Copper

This is a super cool color that immediately reminds us of autumn. It’s been spotted on virtually every runway from London to New York to Tokyo, so if you plan to invest in a new item this fall, a rich copper jacket or sweater is the ideal item.
