We are back at the Couvent des Cordeliers in Paris (Julius was the first show there) as it is a great location for a runway – the old medieval church setting is perfect – and this time to witness the Paris Men’s SS16 for Songzio, a designer from Korea.
If we would have to believe the press release it seemed things were promising to be mighty complex to the point of hallucination, but if you realize that most designer have so many ideas and things they all want to implement at the same time, you will find that this actually happens quite frequently when you read the runway show paperwork, namely, that the press release causes confusion rather than that it clears things up. The advice then becomes: Don’t worry, sit tight, and just watch the show (and keep your handheld in your pocket).
No sweat here, because the new collection was beautiful as the earthy, brownish and greyish color cuts paraded through the gothic limelights up and down the smoky and mirrored runway, all models looking as if somehow they were casting for a forgotten episode from Game of Thrones, for the role of some cleric or the other, in other words, the medieval mind set and spirit very much captured live, from the first model to the very last.
